1. About Shortlistar

Shortlistar is a career insights and job discovery platform. We publish career-related editorial content, curate job listings sourced from across the web and from direct employer postings, and provide tools to help job seekers manage their applications and career development.

Shortlistar acts as an intermediary between job seekers and employers. We are not a recruitment agency and are not party to any employment contract or hiring decision made through our platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Shortlistar. By using our services, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are using Shortlistar on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of Shortlistar — including applying for jobs, posting job listings, and accessing your dashboard — you will need to create an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when registering
  • Maintain the security of your account password
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent or harmful behaviour.

4. Job Seekers

As a job seeker using Shortlistar, you agree that:

  • All information you submit — including your CV, cover letter, and profile details — is accurate and truthful
  • You will not misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or identity
  • You will not use Shortlistar to apply for jobs on behalf of another person without their knowledge and consent
  • You understand that Shortlistar is not responsible for the outcome of any job application or hiring decision
  • Job listings sourced from third-party websites may link to those external platforms, and Shortlistar is not responsible for the accuracy or availability of those listings

5. Employers and Recruiters

As an employer or recruiter using Shortlistar, you agree that:

  • All job listings you post are genuine, accurate, and currently available
  • You have the legal authority to post jobs on behalf of your organisation
  • You will not post misleading, discriminatory, or fraudulent job listings
  • You will handle applicant data in compliance with applicable data protection laws
  • You will not use candidate data obtained through Shortlistar for any purpose other than genuine recruitment
  • You accept sole responsibility for all hiring decisions made using our platform

We reserve the right to remove any job listing that we believe violates these Terms or our content standards, without notice and without refund of any fees paid.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use Shortlistar for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content of any kind
  • Scrape, harvest, or extract data from Shortlistar using automated tools
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users’ accounts
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
  • Use our platform to send unsolicited messages or spam
  • Post job listings that are discriminatory, illegal, or designed to defraud applicants
  • Impersonate any person or organisation

7. Intellectual Property

All original content on Shortlistar — including our editorial articles, design, logo, branding, and software — is the intellectual property of Shortlistar and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.

By posting content on Shortlistar — including job listings, company profiles, and application materials — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content for the purposes of operating our platform.

8. Third-Party Links and Content

Shortlistar may contain links to external websites and job listings hosted on third-party platforms. We provide these links for convenience only. We do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party website.

Clicking on a third-party link will take you away from Shortlistar, and you will be subject to the terms and privacy policy of that external site.

9. Advertising

Shortlistar displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and potentially other advertising partners. These advertisements are clearly labelled. We do not endorse the products or services advertised on our platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

Shortlistar is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for:
